Welcome to Premier French Bulldog! We are a family-run french bulldog breeder. One of the most important things you can do when caring for your new puppies is socializing them with other dogs, people, places, noises, and experiences early on in their lives. This will help prevent shyness or fearfulness from developing later on which can be difficult to deal with. In this blog post, we want to share some tips for caring for french bulldog puppies!
What to feed your French Bulldog Puppies
One of the most important things you can do when caring for french bulldog puppies is making sure that they have a healthy diet. We feed all of our dogs with Premier Puppy food, and we highly recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their dog happy and healthy!
We recommend dry food only for puppies and as they grow, either dry food or a mix with raw food, but make sure you choose a high quality option that is preferably recommended by your veterinarian as every Frenchie is different.
It is important to learn what food can be bad, toxic or create allergies to your Frenchie as their digestive system and skin are very sensitive.
How often to bathe your french bulldog puppies
We recommend bathing your Frenchie every 2 weeks. Remember they have sensitive skin and too many baths can actually affect their skin. Just make sure you use a shampoo for dogs and preferable for sensitive skin, oatmeal based shampoo is always a good option for Frenchies.
French bulldog puppies are very clean dogs, and they won’t get too smelly so you don’t have to bathe them often unless they start getting into dirt or mud that needs more than just the wipe of a wet paper towel! A word of warning though: when bathing your french bulldog puppies, **make sure to cover their ears** never get water in their ears because it can irritate them. If you do happen to do this by accident (or they shake out of excitement), make sure you clean the inside of their ears with a cotton ball afterward.
They are also very sensitive around their face and eyes so be careful when washing that area too!
Keeping your Frenchie happy and healthy with regular exercise
Dogs, in general, love to be active. They need space and time for physical movement each day. If they don’t get enough exercise it can lead to several different behavioral problems such as hyperactivity or aggression towards people or other animals. Your french bulldog puppies need lots of exercises, but you don’t want to overdo it.
Puppies are just like human babies in that they tire easily and can hurt themselves if not watched closely. So be sure to take your puppy outside for walks regularly (daily is best) so he gets good physical activity without too much strain, don’t forget how important it is for your dog!
- A healthier way of living for you and your pet
- Promotes bonding time
- Reduces behavioral problems in pets
- Provides a source of exercise for inactive dogs
Grooming, including brushing their teeth and trimming their nails
Every time you bathe your Frechie make sure to brush them to get rid of dead hair, but be gentle as you can irritate their skin. Also make sure you go deep under their wrinkles and paws to take all the dirt out. And after the bath it is extremely important to dry them out completely, to avoid fungus, bad odor or skin irritation.
To keep your dog’s teeth clean and healthy, you must brush their nightly routine. Brushing with a toothbrush along with two main tools: one being the dog toothpaste mixed in water or baking soda. This will aid digestion while also helping remove plaque from between teeth. Please note that when you start brushing their teeth, the first week or so they will hate it because this is a new sensation for them! You have to be gentle but firm and persistent… After one week of doing it every day, they should get used to it and love you even more than before.
Trimming nails are also important for your dogs’ well-being. If you have never done this before, it is important to get the right kind of clipper so as not to cut too deep and hurt them! Also, be sure to use a soothing balm on their paws after trimming nails that have healing properties such as tea tree oil or lavender – these are great!!
Choosing a veterinarian that you can trust
It is important to find a veterinarian that you trust and can depend on when your frenchie puppy needs attention. Your local vet should be able to help with:
- Vaccinating the puppies
- Weighing them regularly so they stay healthy!
- Spaying or Neutering them at the appropriate age
- Keeping an eye on their overall health and well-being!
These are all important things to consider when choosing a vet for your blue French Bulldog puppies. Often, you will find that there is more than one veterinarian in your area so it makes sense to have two different vets options.
